I enjoy real estate because I love meeting people. It's a great feeling to be a part of the process that makes people happy. Helping someone to find a home should be a fun, satisfying experience and with the right approach and attitude it can be. My goal with every client is to take away the tension and stress and interject a win-win philosophy into home buying.
It's also rewarding to be a good steward by managing properties for clients. We treat our clients with the respect they deserve and give a lot of attention to details and maintenance. Owning both a sales and management company provides me with a constant source of meeting and making new friends and staying young at heart.
I have loved living in Austin since 1958. My wife Pat McCray assists me in my company and we have two daughters, Kate and Robin. I have lived in many inner city locations while living in Austin, but we currently reside in Central West Austin. I am extremely fortunate to be surrounded by intelligent, sweet, professional people in my office who are a pleasure to work with.

I love looking at houses and I enjoy the challenge of finding my clients what they are looking for in a price range they can afford. It is always a thrill when we walk in and we all know "this is the one." Then there's negotiating the deal. I think this is one of my real strengths as I love to strategize on how to get the best price for my clients, whether they be the buyers or the sellers.
Older homes are my real love. The essence of Austin is its older neighborhoods, but I have branched out into some suburban areas and have a few favorites with large trees and more individualized houses. I am always honest with my clients regarding my opinion of price, quality and future outlook for a particular house or neighborhood and once they have made a decision, I do my best to help them achieve their goals.
About me personally . . . I am 50-something and live with my partner Rosalyn. I have worked in many fields including mental health, education and job training, but I have always had a connection to the real estate profession and have had my license since 1979. I love the freedom, the personal relationships with clients and the excitement of helping make the deal work for everyone.
I am lucky to work in a profession that I really enjoy with great friends and co-workers at Choban & Associates. We are all experienced professionals who are laid-back, friendly, and dedicated to doing excellent work for our clients.

From the beginning with Austin and me, it was love at first sight. I moved here in 1991 and took pleasure not only in everyday living, but also in the history of the city, and in its future direction. I've lived in a number of Austin's many great neighborhoods over the years, and can say with certainty that the heart of the city - its Spirit - is its diverse citizens, both old and new.
Since 1994, I have worked as a Residential Designer and General Contractor, on projects large and small in all corners of Austin. As with the city as a whole, a healthy respect for history and open embrace of the future have been my guides in helping my clients enhance their living environment for today. A passion for real estate along side this led me to where I am today.
I bring a trained eye to the Real Estate profession, where I can help my clients better see their home in the context of a particular area, or the potential of a new one that fits their needs. My approach has always been, and continues to be, learning and understanding how I can best serve my clients and how they fit into their home and the community.
My partner Leroy and I share a home with three young foster sons and our elderly dog. As anyone with children will understand, every day brings a new adventure - and especially new joys!
I feel fortunate to work with people who are also dedicated professionals, who embrace diversity and who actively contribute to the Spirit of this great city we all call home.

As far back as I can remember, I've been drawn to architecture and imagining the possibilities for renovating houses. After spending many years in corporate positions totally unrelated to what I'm now doing, I switched to a real estate career to focus on what I enjoy.
I joined Choban & Associates in 1994, initially handling the property management side of our business, and then later branching out into sales. It also helped that, back in 1992, my partner Derek and I bought our house from (and lived next door to) Tony Choban & Pat McCray, so the inspiration was right in our own backyard!
I've dealt with everything from minor repairs, to major remodeling projects for all these years, along with representing buyers and sellers with their own properties. That experience allows me to bring a keen sense of what really works, whether you're preparing a house to go on the market, buying a house and envisioning the changes that can happen, or wanting to keep your investment properties in top condition.
I take pride in handling the details so you don't have to, and working with clients through every step of the buying, selling, or property management process.
